Antifascist Martial Arts Tournament 2017

The Antifa Martial Arts Tournament will take place on 9, 10 and 11th June 2017 for the fourth year running, despite problems the organisational assembly faced this year. 

On the 9th of June we will meet all our comrades, that come from all over Europe, to eat together in the yard of the free social place “sxoleio”. There we will get to know each other and exchange opinions on antifascism and the different circumstances that exist in each country.

On the weekend of the 10th and 11th of June we will all go to Kastaneio Stadium where the games are being held.

The Antifa Martial Arts Tournament does not promote antagonism or competition. It does not support winner deification or the disdain of the defeated. For us, everyone who fights inside (and outside) the ring is worthy of respect. The tournament is a celebration during which we enjoy the sports we love without racism, sexism and intolerance. 

In a time when, throughout Europe and globally, there is a noticeable level of fascist regeneration, we could not resist making our own contribution to the war against it.

On many occasions, martial arts in Greece have been conceived of as nationalistic, fascistic and sexist–and not unfairly. It is impossible to watch from the sidelines and not help protect both this strand of athletics and this way of life, martial arts, from the threat of fascism.

The Antifa Martial Arts Tournament will be, like it always is, a celebration of antifascism and the sports that we love.

3rd Antifascist Combat Sports Tournament (english)

The Antifascist Combat Sports Tournament is organized for third consecutive year. When in 2014 we started the first meetings to create the tournament, the conditions at national, european and global level were completely different. Within the last two years the changes were rapid. We live the largest refugee wave in the world history. Since last year’s tournament one million refugees have passed through Greece and around a thousand listed people have drowned in the Aegean Sea.

The "civilized" Europe has sealed its borders with NATO assistance, makes hotspots-prisons and redirects refugees in Turkey. All this is happening with the support and agreement from the Greek state. Europe's mask has fallen and has emerged as Fortress Europe in the name of security drowns children in the Aegean Sea and raises nazi character fences on borders and refugees detention centers.

Along with the racist policies of the EU and Europe there was of course a parallel rise of the european far-right and neo-Nazi parties (Pegida in  Germany, Soldiers of Odin in Finland, far-right border guard battalions in Bulgaria, Anti-refugees marches in Poland, a huge increase in the far right party in Austria). 

In Greece the neo-Nazi Golden Dawn, in full consistency with the far-right and neo-Nazis in the rest of Europe, is trying to create anti-refugees atmosphere. Once again the anti-fascist movement stands against them. With direct solidarity to refugees and continuing antifascist action has not left the fascists to gain place.

 As part of this polymorphic antifascist movement, antifascists that actively participate in various free social spaces and squats in Thessaloniki, we met again. We decided for the 3rd consecutive year to organize the 3rd Antifascist Tournament of Combat Sports. The tournament is now part of the diversity of the antifascist movement, not only of Thessaloniki and  Greece,but  Europe with the participation of dozens of comrades from abroad, not only about the sport participation , but also about helping in the organization.

We invite you to the 3rd Antifascist Tournament Martial Arts which will be held on 17, 18 and June 19  2016 at the Katsanio stadium in Thessaloniki, Greece. To enjoy together sports and arts we love, away from fascists and the dominant logic of competition. Antifascist and comradely!

Αντιφασιστικό τουρνουά μαχητικών αθλημάτων 2016

Για 3η συνεχόμενη χρονιά διοργανώνεται το Αντιφασιστικό Τουρνουά Μαχητικών Αθλημάτων. Όταν το 2014 ξεκινούσαμε τις πρώτες συνελεύσεις για τη δημιουργία του τουρνουά, οι συνθήκες σε εθνικό, ευρωπαϊκό και παγκόσμιο επίπεδο ήταν τελείως διαφορετικές. Μέσα στα τελευταία 2 χρόνια οι αλλαγές ήταν ραγδαίες. Ζούμε το μεγαλύτερο προσφυγικό κύμα στην παγκόσμια ιστορία. Από το περσινό τουρνουά μέχρι τώρα έχουν περάσει από την Ελλάδα ένα εκατομμύριο πρόσφυγες και υπάρχουν γύρω στους χίλιους καταγεγραμμένους πνιγμένους στο Αιγαίο πέλαγος. 

Η “πολιτισμένη” Ευρώπη σφραγίζει τα σύνορά της με τη συνδρομή του ΝΑΤΟ, φτιάχνει hotspot-φυλακές, απελαύνει πρόσφυγες στην Τουρκία. Όλα αυτά με τη συνδρομή και τη συμφωνία του ελληνικού κράτους. Το προσωπείο της Ευρώπης έχει πέσει και έχει αναδυθεί η Ευρώπη-Φρούριο που στο όνομα της ασφάλειας πνίγει παιδιά στο Αιγαίο και υψώνει φράχτες ναζιστικού χαρακτήρα σε σύνορα και κέντρα συγκέντρωσης προσφύγων.

Μαζί με τις ρατσιστικές πολιτικές της Ε.Ε. και της Ευρώπης υπήρξε φυσικά και παράλληλη άνοδος των ακροδεξιών και νεοναζιστικών κομμάτων μέσα στους κόλπους της (Pegida στη Γερμανία, Soldiers of Odin στη Φινλανδία, ακροδεξιά τάγματα φύλαξης των συνόρων στη Βουλγαρία, αντιπροσφυγικές πορείες στην Πολωνία, τεράστια αύξηση του ακροδεξιού κόμματος στην Αυστρία).

MARTIAL ARTS ANTIFA TOURNAMENT 

5-6-7 of June 2015

The Antifa tournament is organized for a second consecutive year in the city of Thessaloniki, with the objective to fight with the martial arts which we love in our own way; to fight in self-organized, anti-hierarchical terms, far away from “winners and losers” logic; far from the constraints of profit and entertainment, setting as a goal to fight against racism, sexism and homophobia. The intention is to keep fascists off the gyms and rings, off the streets, off the courtyards and city squares.

В начале 2014 мы начали переговоры с Джеффом Монсоном что мы намеревались организовать с просьбой поддержать проект с участием. Мы договорились, что он будет организовывать MMA семинары в течение двух дней гонок и как принять участие в мероприятиях - дискуссии, предшествующие гонке, как он хотел. Все, что он попросил был для покрытия транспортных расходов и предложить жилье на время их пребывания в нашем городе.

За день до уже запланированных семинаров в наших турнирах, Он сообщил нам, что из-за острой проблемой семьи, он не сможет принять участие.

Имея уже встретиться с нами платить ту же цену билетов (US полета - Греция и возвращение) предложил провести семинары согласился другой раз так, как он сказал нам, что он уже купил билеты с открытыми датами. Итак, мы договорились, чтобы стать семинары, которые пройдут 14 декабря. На этот раз в ожидании окончательного соглашения в день он предложил, он вдруг остановился все коммуникации с нами без ввода даже потрудились обосновать. Не откликнулся на нашу просьбу о возврате Ассамблеи с договор был расторгнут по собственной вине. Мы осуждаем неприемлемым и наименее плохим поведением Джефф Монсон используется анархистский потенциал, чтобы украсть деньги движение. Антифа турнир не хочу иметь ничего общего с этой суммы и никому, желающих воспользоваться этой организации и мировой антифашистского движения для себя.

Не хватает татуировки и некоторые телевизионные интервью, чтобы стать партнером.
